Few weeks ago we had some drinks at a friends house and one of the guys that was there was a cop. He didn’t stop talking about racing and he told me about some crazy racing fury called «Beat the Heat».
This catchy organization is a group of police officers and firefighters that took the challenge to educate people that street racing is NOT drag racing. Take It To The Strip! They are non-profit organization of police officers and firefighters who use marked emergency drag cars to conduct free educational programs to the public.
Mission:
Goals of Beat the Heat, Inc.

- To ENCOURAGE young people to stay in school and be achievers in life.

- To EDUCATE the general public about the sport of drag racing and ENCOURAGE everyone to race on the drag-strip…NOT ON THE STREETS!
Street racing is NOT Drag Racing…Take It To The Strip!
They have a location on Highway 27 & Krome Ave Opa-Locka, FL, which they use for racing and drifting, anyone can join with their own car.
The place is family friendly and provides booths with food. Kids can go around the muscle cars to take pictures and climb on them with police officers or with racers that sign up against them. Nice sitting area is also provided for guests on the strip and the drifting area.
Firefighters are also available to help «PROMOTE a better UNDERSTANDING between Police and Firefighters and the communities they serve».
All I can say is that it was amazing to see the racing and drifting and the kids had blast!
So if you think you have it, sign up and race with your car, if you win you get an original «Beat the Heat» shirt!
WOW 😀
